Welcome, adventurer, to the home of the Eldritch Collective. Here you will find many resources that outline the various functions, expectations, and objectives of our Free Company. For those seeking a more compact understanding however, you’ve come to the right place.
To understand the Collective, one must first recognize the core tenets upon which we were founded:
- A clear, uncompromising vision for what lore-based roleplay means to us.
- Storytelling that exists as part of the game universe, rather than overlaid or in spite of it.
- A dedicated core that values friendship transcending any singular game.
Through these tenets, we seek to provide an environment that supports the growth of a wide cast of characters, focusing on the journey of the whole rather than keeping the spotlight on any one individual or story. Whether you prefer to take charge and build your own stories and events or just sit back and enjoy the ride, we aim to give our members the tools they need to thrive within our established framework.
Of course having been around as long as we have, we’ve had our share of ups and downs, hits and misses, and made a few missteps along the way. But if there’s any single incontrovertible truth about us, it’s that we’re never too proud to look inwards. We’re not afraid to sit down with ourselves, have an open dialogue about what’s working and what’s not, and adjust our course as needed.
Therein lies our greatest strength and our commitment to our members: with a leadership team whose bond spans multiple games and decades both, we know how to communicate with each other and hold ourselves accountable. Each of the Collective’s leaders is a functional, working adult with a life beyond Final Fantasy, and approaches their role in the Collective with empathy and perspective rather than ego.
Lately, we’ve acknowledged that it’s more important to be true to ourselves and what we enjoy rather than sacrifice our own fun trying to accommodate others. That is why you will see our recruitment is now only open in limited bursts. We want to make sure the people who join us resonate with our vision, and we strongly believe in an environment that favors quality over quantity.
If in the course of exploring our site you feel like the Collective is right for you, we encourage you to get to know us in-game for a potential referral or personal invitation, or to wait for one of our open application periods during the last week of each month.
Whichever way you choose to get to know us, we look forward to meeting you!
